People tend to believe that they have control over their "hourglass. Life is only very short, and one should never take it for granted because what happens if it ends today? Or even next week? Life is only given to somebody once, how we use it or waste our time is entirely up to us. One does not seem to notice the short period of time we life on earth, until someone they cared for passes away.
At that moment, they start to realize that this life is very short and that they could have been the person to pass away. Just a couple of years ago, a man that I loved very much passed away. Once in mid-October near my birthday he had promised to take me and his wife, grandma, on a picnic that he had planned for years. The days started to roll by, and then the day before the picnic, my birthday, came. I remember that it was a harsh, rainy day and I was afraid that we weren't going to be able to go on the picnic I had dreamed of going to since grandpa told me about it, but instead the worst thing possible happened.
